This singer-songwriter, was born in San Francisco and began singing, writing poetry and playing keyboards at age 9. At 21, she turned her poetry into song writing and produced her first album to having sold out performances at major theaters.

“I sold 10,000 CD’s out of my trunk and signed autographs until the last person left my concert at 4am in the morning -so much fun! It was important for me to show major-theater booking managers that little independent artists like me can sell out concerts too if given a chance,” said Lea.

Being the first independent artist to sell out at world famous Yoshi’s Jazz Club in San Francisco, and to tour in China and Austria, Lea learned her soul was no stranger to music. Her love for music is rooted in a small city called Macon, GA.

“I love rock & country music – they are my niche! My musical influences stem from my family roots in Macon, GA where my father, uncles, James Brown, Little Richard, and Otis Redding grew up together and practiced rehearsing their routines for their bands in my grandmother’s house in Macon. I believe listening to their music and watching their performances inspired me to strive to be an entertainer. Ike & Tina Turner live performances also played a large part in my entertainment drive and inspiration. When I saw Tina Turner perform at age 5, I was in total awe by her amazing voice and performance with that style of music! I never seen any female rock stars dance across the stage with sizzling dancers before. I said, “when I grew up, I want to be a rock star like Tina! It’s unbelievable casino concert promoters are continuing to request for my Sweet Tina Turner Tribute today and I say OK lol. I also learned a lot by chauffeuring the God Father of Soul James Brown and attending his concerts,” said Lea.

Former Mayor of San Francisco, Willie Brown, Jr. regards Lea’s latest single, “I Don’t Want to Dance Without You” is a hit and something not to be missed.

Lea Lolita Sweet, 9-time BAMMY nominee, singer-songwriter and producer has created a new fusion of Rock and Soul on her CD “Daughter of Funk Rock” which is edgy and outside the box and also a new fusion of country and soul on her “Black Queen of Country Music” CD. Lea’s injection of “flava” to pop country music was recorded in Nashville, TN with some of the greatest musicians including Troy Klonz whom is Steel Guitarist for Brooks & Dunn and Roy Clark. This CD earned Best New Country Artist and Best Album from Bay Area Music Awards.

“I was honored to receive Best New Country Artist, Best Jazz, Best Neo-Soul, and Best Album and nominated for Entertainer of the year by the American Academy Association of Music and the Bay Area Music Awards. I’m going to submit and share my music with the Grammy Awards in 2020 – wish me Good Luck,” said Lea.
